It is easy for us to sit here and judge our military leadership without knowing all the facts. The latest SOF tells about how our military leadership has mishandled the using of snipers to deal with threats and insurgents. It also mentions that there have been political road blocks put in place by the Iraqi politicians and our own military politicians not wanting this or that religous group rounded up as they would lose their militia / support. Does this not sound similar to Vietnam where the enemy knew when and where our military would be and what they would be attempting to do? Maybe most people don't read or remember history and study these minor details. Kissinger was behind most of the dumb-*** decisions that caused the non-win in Vietnam. Guess who is behind most of the negotiation tactics being used with the Iraqi politicians, either Kissinger or his friends.

We can still get this mess turned around and do it fairly quickly if we remember that there is only one rule in War, that there are no rules. Quit playing by the book that our enemys know and expect us to use. We had systems that worked in Vietnam but were immediately shut down when they started producing positive results. Granted, we are a somewhat civilized nation so to retain our dignity and that of our troops, we need to have some rules, but not the point where we make our troops ineffective and walking targets due to some political agreement.

We need our men and women to come home with all their equipment and experience because we may possibly need them much more urgently defending our country. To get them out of Iraq, we need to write our Congressional Representatives asking them to support our troops and work with the President to get the military forces less restricted and working the Iraqi military into active roles. If you don't want to do that, and you like to pray, then write out a prayer and give it hourly or at least once a day. God won't mind if you ask for the same thing over and over. If you want to write your Congressional representatives daily, they would eventually get tired of hearing it over and over. Better yet, number each one so you know how many emails or letters you have sent and start sending a copy to a newspaper or news channel or even Bill O'Reilly. Being persistent is what eventually gets them worn down. We don't need to fight each other about this or that situation or what should be done, we need to agree to disagree and support our people in uniform and then tell our elected leadership to get done what we want and not their own agenda. Nuff said.
