City's Subways Ripe for Attack, Balboni Warns

Submitted by Don Robertson, Jan 2, 2007 12:55

"One of his foremost goals will be securing more federal money to pay for essential security upgrades for the city's aging subway infrastructure." REALLY?

Essential security upgrades? What are, "essential security upgrades"?

There is absolutely no way to prevent anyone from causing mayhem and destruction anywhere in the world, if that is what they are intent upon spending the money upon. There are an infinite number of ways to cause harm.

Those who think Homeland Security is anything more than patronage jobs and money flowing recklessly out of Washington D.C. should consider how easily it would be to start poisoning America's kids, or, burning down American's parklands, agriculural infrastructure and even its cities.

Anyone with any small amount of imagination and the ability to read can come up with dozens of security problems that cannot be addressed, and that could bring society to its knees.

The only way to provide security is to deal with the problems that cause groups and individuals to want to cause these problems. This is not surrendering to terrorism, it simply is prudence and justice.

Now, there is one other very real terrorist problem that we should be very concerned about. We should all be very thankful Ted Kaczynshi was not a bio-tech student at Harvard.

Education is very dangerous, and far less a boon to modern society than the those that can't, teach education lobby would have us believe.

We could do better with all the Homeland Security all the education dollars spending that money on encouraging birth control among the growing mass of our populations worldwide. The degradation of the human experience due to overpopulation is what is generally causing the anger and terrorism.

And, we could also put up a very well funded bounty on crime, waste, corruption and fraud in government and industry.

I don't know about you, but I am concerned when I see government throwing more money down rat holes trying to entice the rats out. It only seems to breed more rats.
