I find it interesting that your argument states that you infrequently visit the city yet feel some inherent right to drive in based on some tolls or taxes you paid. Do you pay NYC taxes? Are you one of the commuters who for lack of a real transit solution is forced to deal with gridlock every day? For someone who was so proud of their mass transit heritage you certainly seem to have forgotten what it is all about. I do live in Manhattan. I do have a daughter with asthma. I have experienced first hand the effects of the poor air quality here from those of you too inconsiderate to consider mass transit. I wonder how many times you have visited the city in the last while that you could have taken mass transit just as easily. Maybe if you had to pay an extra fee for the convenience of driving to where you want to in a city so crowded you would think twice (or even once in this case). You Mr. Wolf fail in this argument. You might as well title your article "Why I am lazy/arrogant and feel that I am the only person who counts in a city of millions".
