Just Punishment For A Traitor
Reader comment on: 30-Year Sentence Sought in China Spy Case

Submitted by Mr. Bill, Mar 12, 2008 13:33

As a retired military member I say a 30 year sentence for Chi Mak is appropriate...but I'd also life without parole in this case. Actions such as those taken by Mak put the lives of military and civilian personnel at great risk. Stiff prison terms for anyone who is a traitor, i.e. spies for a foreign government, would hopefully send a message that the American justice system doesn't play games when it comes to National Security. It cost billions in taxpayer dollars to protect our way of life...and billions more to fix what Mak and others like him have done.
