It's the water tunnel drilling into lower Manhattan that's been causing these low frequency sounds. I had to leave the city after living here for 25 years because it was making me sick. The 10 second cycle Hrz is generated by the horizontal drilling. Recently I started hearing a 6 second cycle Hrz, probably the vertical shaft they are drilling. The tunnel comes down the west side of Manhattan, I think they are currently under Tribeca horizontally and I believe a vertical shaft is being drilled at the entrance to the Holland tunnel. If you look at a map the direction they have been heading points right to the Owl's Head plant. The sound is bouncing off Bay Ridge. I've been hearing from downtown Jersey City since 2005 and from Brooklyn Heights before that. These low frequency noises can really mess your body up, not to mention make your fillings pop out and possibly shake buildings down. Most people don't notice because of all the other noise in the city. It's not so much loud as it is shrill and penetrating. This noise is not fish and it's not funny. The DEP is in charge of the tunnel project.
