Felony Record vs Gun Control
Reader comment on: Convicted Felon Tests Second Amendment
in response to reader comment: I'm A Felon.

Submitted by Michelle McKee, Jan 21, 2008 14:56

I am a convicted FELON. 2001 did my time and now I can not protect my own children in my own home. I was convicted of uumv( unauthorized use of motor vehi.) and drug possesion. No aggravated anything, no firearm charges. I believe they should change the law. If anyone was convicted of a felony and used a firearm they should not be allowed for 10 years to posses one. Like voting. We can not vote for 10 years after we are off paper. We know we did something wrong, some more than others but if we are not convicted of a crime using force or firearms or raping or killing. Give us a break. Now we are being violated buy not being able to protect our own. I learned my lesson, did my time and a working person who pay taxes everyday, all I want to do is protect my home and kids!
