Being realistic, of democratic candidates, Hillary is not as leftist as Obama on gun rights. Obama was on the board of the Joyce Foundation, which funds anti-2nd amendment activities, recently the International Association of Chiefs of Police, with members coming from monarchies and dictatorships to try to impose an U.N.-backed gun ban on the U.S. Obama also is for banning all semiautomatic guns (includes almost all of the most popular target and recreational guns). Hillary learns from the past, and she knows her husband's ban was an abject failure. The statistics never supported it, and now we have longitudinal data from the U.K. and Australia, and the citizens of those countries are very sorry they allowed themselves to be disarmed.

The fact is, if anyone tries to go too far, they are, by definition, tyrants, and U.S. citizens in the heartland are not going to allow themselves to be disarmed without a very ugly fight. I think Hillary realizes this, and saw it first hand when Bush was elected over Gore in 2000.

If I have to have a democrat in the White House, I'd prefer Hillary over Obama any day. At least she has some experience and I, for one, am strongly libertarian. I don't think guns, abortion, or drugs should be criminalized. Banning any of them will just cost the taxpayers a lot of money for enforcement of something that is unenforceable.
