Reader comment on: Hillary Locks and Loads
in response to reader comment: people are concerned about violent crime

Submitted by slickvguy, Dec 12, 2007 17:45

While I understand what you are sayiong re: the silliness of Howard Lee and his ilk, what people like YOU do not understand is that your position on gun control is based on fantasy. It is pure fantasy to imagine a world without guns. You are NOT going to keep guns away from those who want to get their hands on them anymore than you can keep drugs out of the country!

I really don't understand the gun control advocates. Why can't they see this obvious truth? Instead they choose to cling to a childish utopian fantasy. Sorry, but it's ridiculous. The entire premise is delusional. It's based on "wouldn't it be nice if the world worked like this" instead of "this is the way the world IS".

Now, once you realize that getting rid of all guns is just an idealistic delusion, you are left with two choices: (A) prevent regular folks from having guns too in which case only the worst elements in society have them -OR- (B) allow the citizens to defend themselves against the gun-toting whackos and criminals.

I'll go with (B).
