the article appearing Monday in the Sun by mr. buckley is simply the best and most courageous articled i've read by him. my own father was a chest surgeon in north carolina during the 40s, 50s and 60s. he bravely said the same things in a tobacco state that won him no awards. he told his children he would be glad to take us into the operating room and show us a lung belonging to a smoker - cut open. he then told us about the other options, heart trouble and the liviing purgatory of emphysema. thank you for writiing what you did. ann english
