taxing NY state citizens, BAH HUMBUG!!!!!!
Reader comment on: Spitzer's Christmas Tax Surprise

Submitted by Connie Stock, Nov 14, 2007 14:25

I would think that New York state government would see that we are taxed to our eyeballs, we are among the highest taxed state in the 50 there are, As senior citizens , on limited income and resources, we find it very hard to meet our utility bills and get to a doctor since the gasoline prices are so high, why can't Mr, Spitzer campaign for a price freeze on gas so we could all afford to get to a store for groceries, go to college, get to our minimun wage jobs, and afford health care and our Medicines, !! We are keeping the temps way down in our home and wearing sweaters and sweat clothes , just to try and keep warm, the office of the aging was alloted monies for heap but , I would like the government officials to try and live this way, especially after working all our lives and never missing a day except for a funeral, and then having to retire with no substantial help after we have paid into social security and state and governments taxes from our paychecks why can't there be a discount for seniors from the power companies phone companies, and better perscription services, All government officials seem to think we are all living large with hundred thousand dollar jobs, WELL get out and see the working man and woman, in a 20 thousand dollar house, and eat what we eat and skip your meds, like we do , just to survive, . NO that would be too hard for most of you, you need your SUV's at 10 miles a gallon and your power lunches, etc. sure keep up with your dream world, must be cozy there, well not for the majority of us senors, pal, we get one break to try as save on gas to shop and now you want to tax that also, talk about the GRINCH !! you got him beat in more ways than one, thanks for nothing ,,,, struggling senior
