The Left continually trots out this "we're only there for the oil" cr*p. Leaving aside for a moment the notion that petroleum is hardly something to shrug about, consider this:
If all we cared about in Iraq was oil, it would have cost us only one percent of the cost of going to war, simply to buy it from Saddam's regime. I mean, if we don't care about the Iraqi people and the mass-murder that has been proven to have been perpetrated on them by Saddam over the years, why pick a fight with the guy? He likes money, same as the next thuggish dictator.
It would have cost so little to just say "screw the Iraqi people, we're doing business with the guy," same as France, Germany and Russia were doing. Ergo, there must have been some other reason.
Try another one, just for (more) laughs.
