Are all questions debatable? Is it debatable that the Holocaust occurred? If Columbia invited Adolf Hitler to debate, would we then debate whether Jews were racially inferior and deserving of annihilation? Is Bollinger going to debate whether it was right to stone a teenage girl to death in Iran last week? Shall we debate whether the moon is made of green cheese?
To debate assumes that there are rational positions on all sides. But there are settled questions. There are indisputable facts.
