A couple of weeks ago in Chicago, a young man was shot dead while riding home on a school bus. The alleged perpetrator, still at large, presumably still armed, was described by the Chicago Tribune as an "ex-student". No mention of gender, race, approximate age or distinguishing characteristics, even though the article reported that the shooter had been identified not only by other students but by school administrators, as well. "Ex-student": A description fitting anyone no longer attending school.
