Why not ask the Iraqis whether they want U.S. troops to stay in Iraq? They have had successful elections before, so such a vote should be valid. If they say "go", we can leave with no other excuse. Some say this is putting our foreign policy in the hands of others, but it is their country! They well know the ramifications of the choice. Why not?
