What is being compared, rocks and water?
Reader comment on: Uncertified Teachers Performing Well, Study Finds

Submitted by Dennis Sunal, Nov 20, 2006 19:13

How many teachers who start off as being uncertified are actually in the classroom 3 years later? That number is very small. This story told here is about comparing the survival of the fittest 10% of the uncertified teachers after 3 years to 75% of the certified teahcers (alternative or not). This is hardly fair research or research based best practice as conservatives are shouting for from the roof tops. The text here and/or the study has a huge amount of bias inherent in the data and thus is not usful to generalize as being done here. This news item should be retracted as false information or disinformation.
