Spa Packages for Mother's Day

By LAURA SINBERG
May 6, 2008

Motherhood may be the world's toughest job, so moms deserve some respite on Mother's Day, which is on Sunday. Day spas throughout the city are offering holiday specials to pamper and primp mothers — and their daughters, too. Here are some of our favorites.

Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis in Midtown is one of a bevy of day spas to offer Mother's Day specials.

Turtle Bay Spafumerie

This European-inspired spa and perfumery hybrid offers up a variety of packages, such as the $130 Mom-A assemblage; it includes a 30-minute facial, a 30-minute massage, and a manicure and pedicure. In addition, there's a $400 package that comes with a Royal Facial and a Royal Body Treatment — each lasts 75 minutes — as well as a hot stone pedicure and lunch.

Dorit Baxter New York Day Spa

The Energizing Mom, available for $128, is one holiday option on offer here. With that package, patrons will receive a European-style facial, in addition to a warm paraffin wax manicure and pedicure. The Mother's Glow comes with the facial, as well as a half-hour body massage and a sea mineral body scrub. The spa is a stone's throw from Central Park, so mothers getting treatments alongside their daughters may choose to wind down the day with a picnic, weather permitting.

Metamorphosis Day Spa

An assortment of Mother's Day skin care treatment packages are available through the end of May. The Mother/Daughter special comes with a European-style facial, an eye treatment, a scalp massage, and a 50-minute Swedish massage. The $420 cost covers both mother and daughter. There's also a special on the spa's Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial. That two-and-a-half-hour treatment — comprising an anti-aging cleansing and vitamin C infusion, a Retinol peel, a lymphatic drainage, a firming massage with seaweed, and a seaweed mask — is on sale for $350, down from $500.

Dashing Diva

Don't have the time for a whole day at the spa? Try a $65 Mother's Day pedicure at Dashing Diva. The Roses and Lemon "Aid" Spring Pedicure, on offer through June 30, includes a rose jelly foot bath, lemon foot scrub to remove dry skin, a lilac-infused clay foot mask, and a 10-minute lower leg massage. Mother's Day gift cards are also available.

Townhouse

Spa

Leave Mom to her treatments and get your own, then join up with her later in the day for a mother-daughter complimentary brunch. There will be cocktails, pastries, fruit, and yogurt for customers between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday at this Midtown spa. Mother's Day specials include a relaxation massage and spa manicure for $157. A purifying facial, manicure, and sole-nourishing pedicure are available for $232.
